Once Upon A Time, A Friend A poem about a few different old friends I don't hear from anymore, people I miss.
Once upon a Time, we were friends, Going on adventures of our own Until the lengthy summer day ends Exploring the known and unknown
Once upon a Time, you showed me how To know certain parts of myself I would not know who and what I am now If you weren't there to bare yourself
Once upon a Time, not long in the past, I might have been in love with you In any case I thought our time would last But I guess you didn't think so too
Once upon a Time, we spent many a night, Adventures up past three o'clock, Every dark hour basking in your light, I guess I wasn't taking stock
Once upon a Time, you were special to me, The kind of friend most folks don't get, I thought I had told you, and made you see, But I guess that you forget
Once upon a Time, we always opened up About whatever had come to mind, Creating tiny worlds in the space between us, Something special you can't just find
Once upon a Time, we had met there, In a place that no longer exists, Even in such a place you were quite rare, The stuff of which my dreams consist
Once upon a Time, no longer, You would always hear my call, But I guess you changed your number Now I guess we're not friends at all
